YWAM Kitgum was originally established in 2009 as YWAM Lobone, where we were working with unreached tribes in the mountains of Issore, Eastern Equatoria South Sudan,where we had established a church and a primary school in the first village of Cingili.
In 2016 war broke out in South Sudan and, after 2 nights hiding in the bush, we fled to Uganda. After much time in prayer and reflection God led us to re-establish the base in Kitgum, Nothern Uganda, with a vision to be a hub of restoration and transformation.
Even though we are now located in Kitgum, we still work closely with our partners in Issore and both the church and the school are still running well.
Our team has now grown to 17, and our ministries include: tailoring school, church ministry, Discipleship Training school and children and youth ministry. Find out more about all of these on our Ministries page.
Since 2016 we have also been running Discipleship Training Schools – a 6 month journey of discipleship which is foundational to YWAM. Find out more about our DTS here.
